How Do I Use the PVC Medicine Ball?

Medicine balls are free weights that are designed to be thrown around, unlike your regular dumbbells. Some effective med ball workouts include:

• Overhead slams: Hold the medicine ball behind your head with both hands, then swing it overhead and throw it hard to the ground. Make sure to keep your legs apart and throw far enough away from your feet. This works your lats and core muscles.
• Mountain climbers: Get into plank position with the ball under your hands. Alternate driving one knee towards your chest and then extending it. The ball adds an extra challenge to this exercise, engaging your core and getting your blood pumping.
• Overhead squats: This is essentially performing a regular squat, but whilst holding the ball over your head with arms fully extended. This works your core and challenges your stability. Holding the ball up also engages your shoulders, arms and back.
