What Is the Core Master Balance Board?
The Core Master is a unique fitness product scientifically developed to intensely workout the outer, middle and deep inner core muscles. This is done using three different grip positions: with the handles, without and with the dome. Exercises are both isometric and dynamic, working all muscles and doubling as a great cardiovascular and fat burning workout.
What Are the Main Uses of the Core Master?
The sense of instability and movement on this balance board forces your whole core to stay engaged during a range of exercises. Possible planking variations include:
- Planking: This works the middle core TVA (transverse abdominis), as well as muscles in the back, glutes, legs and arms.
- Balancing: This can be done while planking, working the deepest core muscles in and around the spine, increasing the user's spinal strength and stability.
- Moving: Whilst balancing and planking, you can move forwards and backwards to flex and extend the outer six-pack abdominal and back muscles. This is like doing sit ups, crunches and back extension exercises, working those muscles too.
What Is the Rotating Ball For?
This balance board features a centrally located, rotating ball on its base, as shown below. This ball allows the user to roll, tilt and rotate the deck and plank whilst balancing and moving simultaneously through a library of traditional and exclusive exercises. Most of these exercises can be done in a full or kneeling plank position.
What Makes the Core Master So Unique?
This workout device is the first fitness product that works the outer, middle and deep inner core muscles all at once. It makes conventional core exercises virtually obsolete, enabling over 100 exercise variations for optimal fitness benefits. There is nothing to match the workout you'll get using the Core Master.

Can This Product Be Used for Injury Rehabilitation?

What Are the Benefits of Core Strength?
Having a strong, flexible core underpins almost everything you do in life, especially in fitness. Bending, turning, sitting, standing, running and walking all use your core muscles. A strong core will help with your strength, stamina and stability, as well as improving posture by taking the strain off your spine.
Our Favourite Core Master Exercises
If you want to unveil your abs and create a strong, functional core, hitting max-rep sit-up numbers is not the way. To train your core effectively, you should focus on exercises that challenge the core's primary function: to resist excessive spinal motion, which includes planks, anti-extension and anti-rotation moves. Take a look at some of our favourite exercises that you can use in a circuit below:
- Close-grip press-up: Assume a press-up position with your hands on the dome, keeping your elbows tucked in. Low with control until your chest is just above the board, keeping your core braced to maintain balance. Then push back up.
- Mountain climber: This one starts in a high plank position, with your core braced and your shoulders, hips and feet in a straight line. Bring one knee towards your chest and return it. Alternate between legs.
- Oblique twist: For this exercise, assume a plank position with your hands on the board. Twist the board 90 degrees to the left, return, then twist 90 degrees to the right.
Which Surfaces Can I Use the Core Master Plank Board On?
The Core Master is suitable for use on most non-skid surfaces, although for best results we recommend using it on a rubber gym mat, such as the Fitness-Mad Core Fitness Mat. Do not use the device on tiles, vinyl or wet surfaces. Remember, the smoother the surface, the more difficult the exercises will become as you will need more core strength.
How Do I Store the Core Balance Board?
After use, place the handles in the slots on the deck and wipe clean with a damp cloth. The handles should be placed in the slots screw-end first and then pushed in until secure. This may be tight at first, but will ease over time.
