Who Can Make Gains with the Thuasne Sport Hinged Knee Brace?
Built with two very strong yet flexible hinges, the Thuasne Hinged Knee Brace is intended to support more extreme injuries such as ligament sprains, dislocation and instability. Despite its bulky nature, the hinged brace is still flexible enough to wear while playing your favourite sports.
Which Size Should I Choose?
The Thuasne Sport Reinforced Knee Brace is available in five sizes to accommodate most people. To find which size you need, measure the circumference of your knee around its centre as shown in the diagram below. Once you have measurement, refer to the sizing table to find the right size.
Measure across the centre of the kneecap as shown
Size | Knee Circumference (cm) |
Small (Size 1) | 31 - 33cm |
Medium (Size 2 ) | 34 - 36cm |
Large (Size 3) | 37 - 39cm |
Extra Large (Size 4) | 40 - 42cm |
XX-Large (Size 5) | 43 - 45cm |
Top Tips for Sizing
- If your measurements fall on a size boundary, we recommend choosing the larger size for greater levels of comfort
- The brace is meant to be compressive and will feel tight as a result; if you would prefer less tightness, please choose a larger size
- If you do not have a flexible tape measure, take your measurements with a piece of string, then measure the string with a ruler

Stabilising Biaxial Hinges
Two lateral stays running either side of the leg help maintain the joint along its axis to prevent further injury. These stays are flexible instead of rigid, and move with the knee to prevent restricting motion. This is ideal for athletes who want to protect their knees without impeding their flexibility.
Warm Therapeutic Compression
Known for its warming properties, neoprene provides soothing heat compression as a reliable method of pain relief. The two combined elements of warmth and compression work together to encourage blood flow around the knee, which in turn alleviates pain and promotes faster healing.
Improves Patella Tracking
Patella maltracking is one of the most common causes of pain and discomfort for those who are always active. To rectify poor tracking, this brace features an open patella design that helps guide the kneecap as it moves, preventing it from sliding out of place.
Anti-Tourniquet Straps
Fitted with two straps above and below the kneecap, the degree of tightness and compression can be tailored by you to suit your own needs and preferences. These straps are designed in such a way that they can never be made overly tight, avoiding the so-called "tourniquet effect", which cuts off circulation to your leg.
