How Do I Apply The KT Recovery+ Patches?
Designed to be as easy to apply as possible, the KT Tape is ready to use straight out of the box. A detailed guide is included to help you get the most out of the kinesiology tape but below are some simplified instructions:
- Before applying, make sure the skin is clean, dry and free from any creams or oils (e.g. sun cream or moisturiser). You can also trim the hair for better adhesion. For best results, apply tape an hour before athletic activity.
- The back of the patch features a heart icon and it's important that the patch is applied in the direction of the heart is facing.
- The back also features the numbers 1 and 2 on the layers of adhesive backing, to indicate which layer should be pulled off first. Start with 1 and slowly remove the inner backing away from the patch.
- Lay the patch down over the area of swelling and inflammation, making sure that the heart icon is upright. Gently rub down the adhered section to set the centre of the patch.
- Lift up the remaining paper backing next to the number 2. Slowly peel the backing while smoothing down the outside edge of the patch.
- Rub the entire patch down gently to improve adhesion, making sure that all edges are down.
