Who Can Make Gains with the Fitness-Mad Pro Leather Weightlifting Belt?
Heavy lifters should ensure to wear a belt when lifting large weights. Using a weightlifting belt for heavy loads increases intra-abdominal pressure to make the torso sturdier. This makes the lower back stronger and less fatigued during lifts. As you're much stronger, you can lift more heavy weights, building muscle without exhausting the body.

When Should You Use a Weightlifting Belt?
Weightlifting belts do not need to be used for regular machine weights or small dumbbells. Only use one when lifting large weights on a barbell, including squats, overhead presses and deadlifts. This is because these lifts place strain on your mid and lower back. You should wear a belt when:
- Performing maximal lifts: The belt supports the wearer's back to prevent damage during heavy-loaded exercises such as the deadlift.
- The back is hyperextended: The belt will hold the lower torso rigid, reducing overextension. This includes exercises like the military press.
