If you're an athlete, or just a casual exerciser, you'll probably know some of the benefits of ice, and using it either after a workout to help muscle soreness, or after an injury to try and speed up the healing process. Cold therapy is well known for its healing benefits. Cold slows down blood flow to an injury, and by doing so it reduces pain and swelling. The blood vessels narrow (vasoconstriction) which means less blood goes to the site of the injury. By elevating the injury this helps to keep blood from pooling even more effectively so less swelling will occur. Cold therapy is great for strains, sprains, bumps, bruises and more. It should be applied for no longer than 20 minutes at a time, before being removed for at least 10 minutes and then reapplied. DuraSoft Foot and Ankle Ice Pack Wrap

The DuraSoft Ice Pack Wrap is perfect for dealing with an injury such as a sprained ankle, or just for general aches and pains after a workout. Simply freeze the ice pack inserts, insert them into the ice pack wrap, and wrap around the shoulder securing with the elasticated straps. The ice inserts are constructed from gel cells that freeze. As the gel cells are separated within the ice pack itself, rather than the ice pack being a solid slab of ice when frozen, you are able to bend and shape the ice inserts around the foot and ankle as required to provide good contact for effective cold therapy. The inserts can also be heated to apply heat therapy, in order to soothe the muscles and relieve pain.
